International Women’s Day

Happy International Women’s Day!

That’s right! March 8th is a day to celebrate and recognize the impact women have made in the world! Today is a day to celebrate and reflect on the economic, political and social changes women have contributed to.  Some countries observe International Women’s Day as a national holiday (Bulgaria, China, Russia, and Vietnam to name a few). International Women’s Day began as a way to celebrate the work of the Suffragettes who fought for women’s right to vote.

Find your own ways to celebrate. A few suggestions:

◊ Reflect on changes you wish to see in the world, how you can contribute, and how you have contributed.
◊ Get together with some girlfriends and tell them what you appreciate about them, and how they inspire you.
◊ Do at least one nice thing for yourself, no matter how big or small.
◊ Write a thank you letter to someone who inspires you or has made a difference in your life.
◊ Perform a random act of kindness.
◊ Stand up for something of someone you believe in.

I wish all of you beautiful women out there a very happy International Women’s Day, and I thank you for who you are, what you do, what you believe in, and what you contribute to the world. There are few things as fashionable and attractive as a woman with confidence and a sense of purpose. So get out there and do your thing, and know that you’re making a difference!

Thank you!
